Description
What Are NFT Scams?
NFT scams are schemes designed to steal your NFTs or the cryptocurrency you use to buy them. Scammers create fake projects, fake mints, fake marketplaces, and phishing sites to trick you.
Common NFT Scams
Fake NFT Mint – Scammers create a fake website for a popular NFT project. The website says “Mint now – limited supply.” You connect your wallet and pay the mint fee. You receive nothing. Your funds are gone.
Fake Airdrop – “You are eligible for a free NFT airdrop. Connect your wallet to claim.” You connect and sign. The scammer drains your wallet of NFTs and crypto.
Phishing Sites – A fake version of OpenSea, Blur, Magic Eden, or Rarible. You enter your seed phrase or private key. Your NFTs are stolen.
Fake Support Impersonation – Someone on Discord or Twitter pretending to be NFT project support. They ask for your seed phrase or ask you to “verify” your wallet.
Discord DM Scams – You join an NFT project’s Discord. A scammer DMs you pretending to be a moderator. “You won a giveaway. Click this link to claim.”
Fake Giveaway – “We are giving away 10 rare NFTs. Send 0.1 ETH to participate.”
Fake Collection – Scammers create a fake collection using the same name as a real project. You buy the fake NFT thinking it is real.
Ice Phishing – A scammer tricks you into approving their address as a “operator” on your NFT. They can then transfer your NFTs without your permission.
How Common Are NFT Scams?
Very common. NFT scams exploded during the NFT boom. Millions of dollars in NFTs and crypto are stolen every month.
Average victim loss: 500to50,000 (some rare NFTs worth much more)

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does NFT scam investigation take?
2-6 weeks depending on whether the scammer sold the NFT or held it.
What information do you need?
The NFT contract address, token ID, the transaction hash of the theft, your wallet address, the scam website URL (if any), and Discord/Twitter usernames if applicable.
Is the $99 fee refundable?
Yes – if your case is unrecoverable, we refund 100%.
Can you recover the actual NFT, not just its value?
Sometimes. If the scammer still holds the NFT in their wallet and has not sold it, we may be able to help freeze it through marketplaces. Contact us for a free assessment.
What is ice phishing?
Ice phishing is when a scammer tricks you into approving their address as an “operator” on your NFT. They can then transfer your NFTs without further approvals from you. Always check what you are signing.
How can I avoid NFT scams?
Never click links from Discord DMs. Always verify the official project website from Twitter or other trusted sources. Never share your seed phrase. Check URLs carefully – fake OpenSea sites use similar domains. Use a separate wallet for NFT minting with limited funds.
Do I need to share my private keys?
Never. We only need transaction hashes and wallet addresses.
